A buck with a soccer net tangled in it's antlers is wandering around Upper Montclair. The deer doesn't seem to be in any kind of distress, He's able to eat and his movement is not restricted. So animal control officers in the Essex County community can't intervene. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is reluctant to use a tranquilizing dart because Upper Montclair is a residential area. Residents can literally hear the metal posts on the net clanking with the buck is nearby. Luckily, at the end of rut season all male deer shed their antlers. So h Mother Nature will solve the problem in a month or two.
