I've been hoping to find the time to visit Tamerlaine Sanctuary and Preserve in Montague since hearing about them a few months ago. Yesterday I finally got the time to take the tour with my grand children Gracie and Chris. Gabby and Peter Nussbaum own more than 300 acres and lovingly care for more than 200 rescued animals that were meant to be on our dinner table. This is a wonderful place to visit with the whole family. Tamerlaine is open for tours every Saturday and Sunday at noon. Schools and large groups can reserve different times. I couldn't believe how friendly all of the animals were. We got to learn about how intelligent cows, goats, chickens, pigs and turkeys are. Many walked right up to us and loved the attention from humans. The homestead at Tamerlaine was built before the Revolutionary War and was a stop on the Underground Railroad. I hope you enjoy my pictures.
My youngest grand child Miss Charlotte got her own ball pit over the weekend. She loves it! On Saturday I worked in the yard most of the day. Since I went away last weekend I had a lot to do. We've been seeing a lot of spotted lantern flies recently. One of the tall invasive shrubs I cut down near our pool turned out to be loaded with them. Hopefully, we won't have so many turning up around the house anymore. My weekend dinner treat was Nathan's hot dogs with cheese in the air fryer with potato salad. Delicious!
