I thought it was going to be an uneventful relaxing weekend. It did start out that way. On Saturday my grandson and I enjoyed the pool and some chocolate chip cookie dough. Each pive is so sweet I only allow myself to eat one piece at a time. Then later in the afternoon I worked outside clearing some brush from the yard and mowing. I must have been pretty tired because I fell asleep right in the middle of watching Happy Gilmore Two on Netflix. Denise woke me up when it was over and said it was fun watching. So I'll have to attempt to watch it again soon. I went to bed for a little while. Only to be awakened by my dog Millie. She very gently licks my hand or arm when I'm sleeping and she needs to go out. It was about 3 o'clock Sunday Morning. Which is a time she is used to going out because I get up for work at 3. Then my weekend took a turn for the worst. A skunk has been hanging around my house so I've been very careful with Millie when I take her out in the front yard. It was perfectly still when my big scent hound beagle spotted the skunk on my neighbor's lawn. I just didn't have the strength to hold her back. Instead she dragged us both right up to the skunk. We both got sprayed pretty good. Millie was hit in her face and eyes. I got the residual on my chest and arms. I was wearing a t-shirt. Which got the brunt of it. Pretty much all day Sunday we had to deal with the skunk smell in the house, on me and the dog. I scrubbed Millie's face with Dawn and myself with Irish Spring. We bought spray air freshener and opened all the doors and windows in he morning. Then ran all the air conditioners in the afternoon. The reek is almost gone in the house and on the dog. I can still smell the skunk on my hands. I hope Millie has learned her lesson! Sunday night my grand daughter Gracie took over the living room to watch "KPop Demon Hunters" on Netflix. She was so happy when I told her she could watch it as many times as she wanted to. I'll wrap up this post with some adorable news. An update from my son Matt. Charlotte is now standing! She'll be walking soon. Way ahead of schedule. She is going to be one smart cookie. I hope you smell better than I do this morning.
