State Senator Mike Testa represents Cumberland County. Last week he proposed changing the name a Delaware Bay to The Bay of New Jersey. Testa's bill would require state agencies to use the new name on all sings, websites and official documents. Testa says: "I look at the robust fishing industry and recreational industry of The State of New Jersey. I think the fact that we have to call the bay we fish in Delaware Bay has been long enough." Approximately half of Delaware Bay's coastline is in New Jersey. New Jersey's side of the bay is in Cape May, Cumberland and Salem Counties. No word from the State of Delaware on the senator's legislation. The bill is a long shot to pass because Testa is a Republican and control of the state legislature is in the hands of Democrats.
