I don't like the cold. By Memorial Day Weekend it should be warm right. My pool was open and ready to go but the water was just too cold to enjoy. That didn't stop me from having some truly heart warming moments this weekend. My 5 year old grandson already has a basic understanding of Memorial Day. So I took him to see our Matamoras Veterans Park yesterday morning. Then we spent the rest of the morning at nearby Firefly Park. He is a brave climber and full of energy. We had a great time. It was the best two hours of my weekend. My grand daughter Gracie is not a fan of the cold but that didn't stop her from adding to the warmth. We've had some talented artists in my family. I think the genes skipped a generation or two. Now they're back with Gracie. She draws beautiful pictures. Check out the picture she drew of her mother below. We Facetimed with my son Matt youngest grand child Charlotte too. She is getting so big and very alert. She got a new wagon on Saturday and loves it. Then there was a true surprise. My youngest son James stopped by to catch up. He works two jobs trying to get ahead. He warms my heart with pride every time I see him.
I did continue repairing and staining my pool deck. The cold wet weather slowed my progress. I did by new solar path lights. There was a great three day weekend deal on them at Lowes. I did put out the new cushions. We tried to sit outside but it was too chilly to barbecue. It was store bought fried chicken, potato salad and pizza instead. No worries. I was really in the mood for friend chicken anyway. I hope you had a nice (warm) holiday weekend too.
