A Plan for Franklin Borough's long abandoned zinc mine is taking shape

The Franklin Zinc Mine closed in the 1950's. Since then nothing has been done with the property. Last year the borough council cleared the way for the land to be redeveloped. The Markstone Group has just announced they are moving forward with plans for retail space along Main Street and about 400 rental homes. They hope to break ground next year. Markstone still has a long way to go. Plans will be presented to the borough council and the land use approval process will begin soon.
