This weekend was definitely a mix of fun things. I had some different experiences, and was able to continue some traditions as well. Friday night I wanted to venture out to Sparta or Oak Ridge, but work tired me out so I just stopped by The Irish Cottage Inn in Franklin on my way home. I was originally in the mood to venture out and try something different, but by 6pm Friday night I was fried and just happy to see some friends.
Saturday morning I was able to swing by bestie Carrie and give her flowers. 11 years ago was my first Mother's Day here. The traffic would just be too intense if I tried going back and forth to Boston seeing my family. I don't know how this idea dawned on me, but I just started driving around giving my single mom friends flowers. A random 11 year tradition. If I didn't give them flowers, it's possible that nobody else would. If I can make friends smile, then even better. I gave a couple of bouquets on Saturday and a couple more on Sunday. Success. I buy them from grocery stores, so it's not like we're spending anything massive.
Saturday morning as I was hanging out having tea with besties Carrie and Deb, my phone went off. My bestie Jennifer asked if I was available during the afternoon. We went to The Sussex County Fairgrounds for the Mavericks Legacy event. Fun car show, spring festival with food trucks as well. I had a wonderful time at this event. I had fun making new friends, and seeing some old ones too. The weather was definitely cooperative, that's for sure! Jennifer and I then went to Glenwood, and watched my Boston Celtics take on the New York Knicks. It felt great to see my team come back alive again, finally! After the game ended, I was happy to just have a quiet night in on my couch.
Sunday I was able to make some more rounds, handing out a couple more bouquets of flowers to single mom friends. Getting to see them smile never gets old. I then went to The Irish Cottage and saw friends, while playing Music Bingo. My friends crack up when they see the dark side of me come out to them. Basically I'm fiercely competitive. I pride myself on being the ringer basically, naming the songs before anyone can even Shazam them. I get angry when they play random songs that have never even been played on the radio. Yes I'm a radio nerd. Yes I should be able to turn my brain off and be able to stop myself from myself. I can't do it! I can't stop myself from myself. I yell and make snarky comments which isn't all that much like my usual self.
Some of my friends crack up and enjoy playing Music Bingo more because they love seeing me get so riled up over everything. Total comedy gold.

Overall we had some fun experiences this weekend. I had fun at The Fairgrounds for their car show. I had fun getting to see some of my friends smile on what is a tough weekend for many (myself included.) Seeing friends smile definitely helped me smile a little bit more this weekend.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
