Fans of Shinedown got a surprise dose of rock on network TV this week when frontman Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers appeared during the season finale festivities for American Idol.
The duo brought their trademark chemistry and acoustic style to the nationally televised stage, introducing millions of viewers to the same raw energy fans have come to love from their side project, Smith & Myers. Social media lit up during the appearance, with longtime Shinedown fans praising the performance and many “Idol” viewers discovering the band for the first time.
The appearance comes at a busy time for Shinedown as the band gears up for the release of their upcoming album Ei8ht, due later this month.
