Pearl Jam performed a rare cover of Temple of the Dog's "Hunger Strike" during their final Dark Matter World Tour date in Sydney, marking the first time they played the song live in ten years. The performance was significant as it was the first time since Chris Cornell's death in 2017, who co-wrote and sang on the track with Eddie Vedder. The band also played other live rarities, including Vedder's solo cover of Bruce Springsteen's "No Surrender," dedicated to the Boss who was concluding his own tour in Vancouver. Vedder praised Springsteen's magic and strength in his music during the performance.

Eddie Van Halen’s ‘Canada Day’ guitar sells for over $100K at auction

Eddie Van Halen's 1993 Ernie Ball Music Signature "Canada Day" guitar, unseen for 31 years, sold for $104,000 at Julien's Auctions' Played, Worn & Torn II auction in Nashville. The guitar was played by Eddie at a Canada Day concert in 1993 and features the red Canada maple leaf with band member signatures. Proceeds from the sale will benefit City of Hope. Other items sold at the auction include Warren Haynes' signed Gibson Les Paul, Kurt Cobain's handwritten set list, and Freddie Mercury's tank top.

The bassist for Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage had his life turned upside down when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. “I have cancer and I’m no longer crying about it,” he told “The Sound Lab.” He’s still producing music, and he even has a new nickname for himself. After going through a roughly two-year period where he didn’t want to talk about his diagnosis, Tim says “I call myself Cancer Man. I’m in the best shape of my life.” It sounds extremely rock’n’roll and positive, but Commerford went on to say “The cancer will never be gone though. Killswitch Engage Announce New Album

Killswitch Engage have a new album on the way. It's called "This Consequence" and they've already shared the lead single, "Forever Aligned." The track marks the band's first song in five years. As for the album, he says it's a combination of everything the past five years has thrown at Killswitch Engage as a band, as humans, and society. "This Consequence" will be out on February 21st.
