Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation and observation due to a knee injury he sustained during his team's Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

"Dolphins say Tyreek Hill has a knee injury. He is being taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation and observation," Schefter wrote, along with his earlier post showing footage of Hill being carted off the field during ESPN's live broadcast.

The injury occurred when Hill made a catch and was tackled near the Jets' sideline early in the third quarter. Players from both teams took a knee as staffers tended to Hill and a cart was immediately brought onto the field to take him to the locker room.

An air cast appeared to be applied to Hill's left leg while he was being tended to. The five-time All-Pro selection clapped and waved to fans as he was being taken away in the cart and received a standing ovation from the home crowd at Hard Rock Stadium.

Hill recorded six receptions for 67 yards in Monday's (September 29) game prior to his injury. The 31-year-old entered Week 4 with 15 receptions for 198 yards and one touchdown through his first three games.
