This weekend was definitely wonderful and Epic! This was a beautiful Fall / Summer Weekend for sure. I watched some fascinating things on Netflix, enjoyed highs and lows of a football Sunday, a couple of Fall / Summer feeling festivals, and tried a bungee trampoline for my first time. No wonder why I'm a little tired today. We packed in a ton of fun all weekend long. The first part of my weekend I had a great time in Hackettstown. My Friday night grilling adventures continued, and I tried my Cape Cod Cafe (awesome pizza from Brockton, Massachusetts,) with Linguica sausage that Sussex Meat Packing on 23 in Wantage was able to custom make for me. It wasn't my best grilling performance. I definitely let it burn too much. It was still edible and enjoyable, but next time I'll need to try it either with 3 less minutes on the grill, or possibly try putting on the Linguica halfway through grilling so it still can melt into the cheese. My girlfriend Brooks was stunned that I posted the picture, since it wasn't one of my finer grilling adventures. I explained to her that with my Epic Weekend In Pictures, we always try to keep it transparent and real as possible. When I have grilled an awesome steak or pizza over the past several months, I have posted pictures. When I fail, which we all have accidentally burnt something a little too much, even better to show off my shortcomings. I'm not discouraged after the grilling minor mishap, we'll keep trying and learning because it has simply amazing potential. Even though it didn't look too pretty, the pizza was still enjoyable. Would we have served that pizza to company? Absolutely not. We still had fun enjoying it though!
Saturday morning we went to Home Depot in Mansfield/Hackettstown, New Jersey. I'm not sure whether it's technically in Hackettstown or Mansfield, so we'll give both towns credit. Brooks was happy to load up her carriage with pumpkin Autumn decorations. You may know, I couldn't care less about pumpkins. Pumpkin spice and flavors just aren't for me, I don't like the smell of pumpkin. Every year this time I am reminded how much there is missing out between pumpkin lattes, foods, and beers. One time my bestie Christine was drinking a pumpkin beer that was pretty mild, so much that she thought they poured her the wrong beer at The Irish Cottage Inn. I explained to her that with my dislike for pumpkin, that made me the perfect person to try and sample it. Surely enough, I had one sip of her beer and said "yep, that is definitely a pumpkin beer!" I'm missing out on all things pumpkin this time of year, but will enjoy some delicious Oktoberfest beers when the weather is cool enough.
I'm almost done watching this Netflix Hunting Wives. This show series has me totally hooked! A quick google search reads that, "The Hunting Wives is a series available on Netflix that follows Sophie (Brittany Snow) as she moves to East Texas and becomes involved with a clique of wealthy housewives who hide deadly secrets. The show is described as a "racy Texas drama" and a "spicy and twisted ride". It stars Malin Åkerman and Brittany Snow and recently had its second season renewed by Netflix, with production slated to begin in November for a future release." This show has me hooked and I'm almost done. It's an 8 episode series, and I have 7 done in the books! You can enjoy it but make sure the kids are in bed, because there are some rather racy scenes...I swear that's not why I'm loving this series!
We also watched the Netflix film "Unknown Number The High School Catfish." You can learn more about it by clicking here. This film was absolutely fascinating, riveting and chilling! This reminded me of a tragic situation that happened near my hometown up in Plainville, Massachusetts where a boy unfortunately ended up taking his own life. Just simply awful. I wish that we could say this film was fiction, but it's actually reality. I received so much feedback from friends who were saying and feeling the same exact things I was after watching this film.

Saturday afternoon we went to Donaldson Farms for their annual Garlic and Corn Festival. Our main goal was to get delicious BBQ brisket from James on Main Street, a Hackettstown staple that I have never tried. We arrived right before they opened, and became the first ones to order BBQ brisket from them. They were tremendous and I highly recommend them. They made it so tender and mouthwatering I'm still drooling even thinking about it. Brooks had a couple bites of mine and handled the corn salad that came with it. We had a great time enjoying the gorgeous weather. The band they had was tons of fun and played a tons of 90s songs that always makes me happy! I then tried a shot of something that was brand new to me. I had a Garlic Vinegar shot and enjoyed it! This was my first time trying that. Rolling Hills Farm said "have a shot, it's good for you!" I didn't expect to like it, but we ended up buying two bottles of it. Let's see if their claims of helping blood pressure come true! Sunday morning I was off to The Sussex County Fairgrounds for Sussex County Day! This is one of my favorite days every year. I love getting to do a Facebook Live preview video. I also love working out my videos ahead of time with my friends in The Sussex County Chamber Of Commerce. Once I heard that they were having a bungee trampoline, the grand finale of my Facebook live video became quickly apparent. The food trucks were tremendous, many I see on a regular basis. The pizza food truck they had which was Thinn Crust from Columbia Inn was fantastic. They even got an 8.7 score from Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy, which is good enough for me! I then purchased spicy garlic pickles from Jerzey Pickles. I brought them to The Irish Cottage Inn with me for Football Sunday Funday. My friends were very happy I did. I was the hit of the party with these spicy pickles! I even stopped at ShopRite Of Sussex, and picked up a jar of toothpicks. Look at me getting all classy and party planning! LOL. Maybe not so much.
My Patriots won a close game over the Miami Dolphins which made me happy. We watched The NY Giants lose a game against the Dallas Cowboys that they should have won, and the Jets got crushed by the Buffalo Bills. My fantasy football team in one league got crushed even more! I'm seeming to do okay in my other one. At least 1-1 isn't as bad as 0-2!
Overall this was a very fun, memorable weekend. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
