My Epic Weekend In Pictures

This was definitely a fun, Epic Easter Weekend for sure! I started off my weekend seeing some friends at The Irish Cottage Inn. I was happy to see my friends, and all of the sudden waitress friend Morgan came running over to me. She gave me an envelope that happened to have a gift card in it from my Aunty Donna, Uncle Paul, Matt, Brandon and Sophie. It was so sweet and generous of them, and this definitely made me smile. I definitely made it a point to try and keep as busy as possible. This was kind of the first holiday after my sister Suzanne passed away in January. Still makes me almost throw up and cry whenever I even type that sentence out.

Friday night I was happy to have a low key night seeing friends. I then got some errands done and was able to join my friends Artie, Margie, Roy and Kathy for breakfast at Crystal Cafe in Vernon. We all had great meals and our timing was perfect. They were quiet when we arrived, but then most tables were full by the time we were getting ready to leave. Overall we had a great time together.

I then did more errands, and then met up with besties Carrie, Christine and Chris at Hef's Hutt. We knew the weather was going to be beautiful out, and figuring that anywhere near water spots were likely to be packed. That's why I came up with Hef's Hutt for us, because why not hang out at a golf course when the weather is gorgeous? I went to Sussex Meat Packing for my first time in several years and picked up NY Strip steaks for me and Spooner. Our big Saturday night? We grilled steaks, and nerded out watching Wrestlemania. Great times! Talk about feeling old. I remember watching some of the earliest Wrestlemania's as a boy, and now they're up to Wrestlemania 41! Wow. At 43, that tidbit is making me feel pretty old. The strip steaks were phenomenal. Spooner is quite the grill master with our electric grills, and the seasoning he used was from Israel! I felt more global by the second chowing down these delicious NY Strip Steaks. Like I was telling friends, I like ham, don't get me wrong, but I like steak way more! Not many people probably do steaks on Easter, but I say why not!

This tradition started because my first year here in Jersey, I did make it back to my family for Easter. The problem was instead of a 4 hour drive back from Mansfield, Massachusetts to Vernon, New Jersey it took me 7 hours. I never knew how busy a travel day Easter can be until then. So many people are out, and the Easter holiday is compacted just to that Sunday, which makes it a sneaky nightmare travel day. My family agreed with me it made the most sense for me to stay in Jersey on Easter weekends. As a free agent, I love having the liberty and freedom to go anywhere I want, whenever.

I had a great time yesterday with friends at Industry Kitchen & Bar in Sparta. Our early lunch timing was perfect, especially since several of my friends who came had later afternoon commitments. Everyone was enjoying my Easter tradition I started ten years ago. Great time with friends.

Overall I had a wonderful weekend. Time to start planning next weekend, where I'll be working Friday and Saturday for our 2nd Annual WNNJ St. Jude Radiothon!
